<B>1884 S$1 MS65 Deep Mirror Prooflike PCGS.</B></I> The business strike mintage of more than 14 million coins helps to make this issue readily available in all grades through MS65. (PCGS and NGC have certified over 3,300 coins in MS65 alone!) Its availability decreases quite significantly in Prooflike, however, and even more in Deep Mirror Prooflike, where fewer than 45 MS65 examples have been graded. The Gem DMPL in the current lot yields pronounced field-motif contrast, and displays a wisp of cobalt-blue and gold-tan toning at the right obverse rim. The design elements are well struck, including nearly full definition in the hair over Liberty's ear and the eagle's breast feathers.
