<B>1884 Presidential Campaign Presidentes Cigar Box To Be or Not to Be.</B></I> 12 x 4.75 x 4, wood. This is a whimsical souvenir of the 1884 presidential campaign from a cigar company that was clearly hedging its bets on the outcome of the race. The wooden box meant to hold 100 cigars has To Be or Not to Be in black on the lid. On opposing ends of the box there are paper labels with engraved portraits of the hopeful candidates James G. Blaine and Grover Cleveland. The theme is repeated on the inside lid with a jugate of Blaine and Cleveland and the To Be or Not to Be title. It was ultimately to be for Cleveland and not to be for Blaine.
