<B>1884 G$1 PR66 Cameo PCGS.</B></I> Doubled Date. Breen-6107. This rather dramatic doubling is found on all proofs from this year. Although the proof mintage for the 1884 gold dollar was dramatically increased from previous years (officially 1,006 pieces), the limited number of surviving examples suggests that many were subsequently melted. This outstanding specimen benefits from rich orange-gold color and appealing contrast between the fields and devices. For pedigree purposes, a small lintmark is located under the portrait to the left of the A in AMERICA.
