One of the few Carson City gold issues for which a Mint State example is not automatically a condition rarity, the 1884-CC double eagle has long been popular with collectors. This frosty, attractive example displays bold central detail. The sun-gold fields have strong peach and orange overtones, though they also display a number of scattered, grade-defining abrasions.
