<B>1883 T$1 PR67 Cameo NGC.</B></I> A fully brilliant Superb Gem with exceptional aesthetic appeal. Both sides exhibit fully brilliant silver surfaces that are accented by faint gold color that follows the obverse and reverse borders. From 1878 to 1883 (and on to 1885) trade dollars were only coined in proof format, and survivors are not particularly rare, although those at the highest grade levels are not easy to locate. The mintage in 1883 was just 979 coins with possibly 500 to 600 surviving today, nearly all in lower numerical grades, and many that actually show signs of wear. This example is an impressive exception to the rule, perhaps one of the finest known examples.
