Featured in this lot is this bank note or check from Cochise County Bank signed by E.A. Shattuck circa 1883; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. The bank note features a wonderfully and professionally crafted construction, paid in the order of $100.00 to Shattuck, a well known business man that retains a historical building in Tombstone till this day, he invested heavily into businesses around Tombstone and Cochise County and held accounts with the mining community including Shattuck Mine out of Bisbee and The Shattuck & Arizona Copper Company. The check is dated May 5th, 1883 and numbered No. 2143. The condition of this Cochise County Bank note is well preserved with some folding to the check and browning to the check consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this bank note is 3 1/4" x 8 1/4".
