<B>1883 S$1 Hawaii Dollar MS64 PCGS.</B></I> Lovely freckles of golden-brown and apple-green endow the borders of this lustrous Choice Hawaii dollar. Nicely struck and carefully preserved, with only intermittent field marks to limit the grade. Although Hawaii quarters survived in Mint State in reasonable quantity, the Hawaii dollar is scarce in all grades, and is enormously popular as a single-year, crown-sized world coin. Mintage figures state a production of 500,000 pieces, but according to Breen, 453,622 pieces were melted.
