<B>1883-CC<$5> MS61 PCGS.</B></I> Well struck and lustrous with rich orange-gold color. There are some noticeable abrasions including a few in the left obverse field but these are not out of keeping with the assigned grade. This is one of just six known examples of this date in Uncirculated condition. The finest of these sold in July 2002 as part of the Henry Lang collection, realized $29,900.<BR> Carson City Half Eagles from the 1880s are much less rare than their counterparts from the 1870s. The 1881-CC is easily the rarest of the five issues from this decade, while the 1883-CC and the 1884-CC are in the next tier. There are around two dozen AU examples of the 1883-CC known as well as six Uncirculated pieces. Significant mint state coins are as follows:<BR><BR> 1.
