<B>1883-CC $20 AU58 NGC.</B></I> Most of the gold deposited by Comstock Lode miners at the Carson City Mint in this year was turned into double eagles, which were produced to the extent of nearly 60,000 pieces, while a much smaller number of eagles were produced. This makes the 1883-CC "common" by relative standards, yet only a few dozen Mint State examples are known.
