<B>1883 5C No Cents MS67 NGC.</B></I> This is a Superb specimen of the highly popular 1883 No Cents variety, the first type of the Liberty nickel series. The No Cents design is well known due to the famous Racketeer episode, where examples were gold plated with the hopes of passing for half eagles rather than nickels. Examples of this No Cents variety are quite common today, even in Mint State grades, although Superb examples are rarely encountered. This piece has highly lustrous light gray surfaces with slight weakness on the reverse, but the overall appearance is fully acceptable. It is tied for the finest certified by either NGC or PCGS.
