1883 5C Liberty Head Five Cents, Judd-1706, Pollock-1910, R.7, PR64 ANACS. The obverse features Charles Barber's head of Liberty facing left as adopted on the Liberty nickel in this year, the date is below with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the margin in place of stars. The reverse reads PURE NICKEL in the center, surrounded by a wreath of cotton and corn, FIVE above, CENTS below, seven stars left, and six right. Struck in aluminum with a plain edge. The surfaces are bright throughout and unoxidized. Deeply mirrored with a moderate amount of frost on the devices. A very pleasing coin for the grade, and especially for an aluminum pattern.
