1883 25C Hawaii Quarter PR63 NGC. The mintage of the proof 1883 Hawaii quarter (or Hapaha) is a mere 26 pieces. Most Hawaiian collectors have never seen an example, and typically, years pass between auction appearances. It has been more than nine years since the last Heritage auction offering, in our New York ANA Signature back in August 1997. This one-year type coin was designed by Chief Engraver Charles Barber, and was struck at the Philadelphia Mint. This is a sharply struck specimen with nearly complete definition on the King's beard. Icy devices appear to merit a Cameo designation, which is presumably absent from the insert due to the older generation NGC holder. Fully brilliant, and only faintly hairlined for the grade. A small lamination on the reverse rim at 7 o'clock will identify the present piece in any future appearances. Census: 3 in 63, 0 finer (11/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
