<B>1883/2 5C XF40 PCGS.</B></I> FS-013.1. The underdigit 2 is visible to the left of the 3 under a loupe. Seen without a loupe is a wide network of die breaks, including one passing through the 3, the ball of the shield and over the date; another beginning at the rim to the left of the left arrow and extending upwards to the leaf tip; and a third beginning at the base of the I in IN and extending through the cross of the shield to the first T in TRUST. Excellent definition is apparent of light golden-gray surfaces. David Bowers (2006) says that: "There are five known 1883 dies that show traces of an earlier 1882 date," and that: " ... this is the second most desirable overdate die from the standpoint of clarity."
