<B>1883/2 5C MS65 NGC.</B></I> FS-013.1. The underdigit 2 is plainly visible to the left of the 3 under a loupe. Visible without a loupe is a wide network of die breaks, including one passing through the 3, through the ball of the shield and over the date; another beginning at the rim to the left of the left arrow and extending upwards through the left side of the coin; a third beginning at the I and extending through the cross of the shield to the first T in TRUST; a fourth connecting the rim to the N; and a fifth above the U. With this many visible breaks, it is certainly conceivable, indeed likely, that this is the terminal die state for this desirable overdate, and while the die used to strike the coin may have had its better days, the coin itself is a lustrous, no-questions Gem. The attractive tan-gray surfaces reveal a minimum of abrasions and a strong, if not quite full, strike, with notable weakness confined to the obverse motto.
