<B>1882-CC $5 MS62 NGC.</B></I> While the 1882-CC may be one of the more available Carson City half eagles in higher grades, such availability is relative, particularly since no Select or finer examples are known to the collecting community. The solidly struck example offered here has satiny surfaces, pale orange-gold in color. Distracting marks are few, though a measure of grease is struck into the obverse, most notably at Liberty's cheek and neck and between 4 and 5 o'clock on the rim. Despite this, the overall appearance is pleasing with an air of originality.
