<B>1882 50C PR66 NGC.</B></I> Walter Breen (1977) writes of the 1882 proof half dollar: "Popular, subject to date collector pressure and to hoarding, as there are not many of the 4,000 business strikes still around ... ." A powerful strike emboldens the design elements of this well preserved PR66 coin. Iridescent cobalt-blue, lavender, and golden-brown patina enrich both faces, though bluish hues dominate the reverse.
