<B>1882 25C PR66 Cameo NGC.</B></I> Nearly 500 proof 1882 quarters, from an original proof mintage of 1,100 pieces, have been seen by NGC and PCGS combined. The Cameo population decreases significantly, with fewer than 70 specimens certified. This Premium Gem example displays outstanding contrast between the frosted motifs and mirrored fields. The surfaces appear untoned at first glance, but inspection under magnification reveals a thin layer of barely perceptible tan color, particularly on the reverse. The design elements are well impressed. A few light die striations intermingle with some faint, wispy hairlines in the fields. Overall, a sharp-looking coin.
