1882 1C PR66 Red PCGS. As a high mintage (3,100 pieces) proof Cent from the 1880s, the conditionally rare status of the 1882 might not be well known to some collectors. Ron Sirna (2002) notes that examples are elusive at all levels of Red preservation, and PR66 Red representatives are so rare as to have only made six appearances in our auctions from 1994 to date. This is the most desirable proof 1882 Cent that this cataloger has ever handled. Full reddish-orange luster bathes appreciably reflective features. The sharp strike is free of criticism, as are the carefully preserved, virtually blemish-free surfaces. Population: 10 in 66 Red, there are just four finer (1/03).From the Colburn Collection. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
