<B>1882 $1 Shield Earring Silver Dollar, Judd-1702, Pollock-1904, Low R.7, PR63 PCGS.</B></I> The crown-sized version of George Morgan's famous "Shield Earring" design. Featured on the obverse is the head of Liberty facing right, her hair held down "like a skull cap" by a band with LIBERTY inscribed on it. At the very center of the design, Liberty wears her signature shield-shaped earring. The reverse shows a defiant eagle clutching an olive branch and arrows. The statutory requirements are scattered about each side in the usual places. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Deeply mirrored in the fields but the mirrored reflectivity is partially subdued by the murky gray-rose toning that is evenly spread over both sides.
