1881 S$1 PR67 PCGS. Toned with mottled dark gray and b 1881[S$1] PR67 PCGS.
1881<S$1> PR67 PCGS. Toned with mottled dark gray and blue on the peripheral letters and devices of the obverse and reverse. There is also dark gold patches and flecks which reside within the fields and on Liberty's cheek. A loupe will find faint hairlines on Liberty's cheek and the fields. About as nice as this date is ever found, with most showing far more hairlines or lacking the desirable colorful toning. Identifiable by the grade and a tiny toning speck left of Liberty's ear lobe and another similar speck on the junction of the left wing and the eagle's chest below the point of his beak. An impressive coin for the specialist, and one which has few peers in terms of quality, eye appeal and overall condition. Population: 5 in 67, 2 finer (11/05).
From The JFS Collection, Part Three.
