<B>1881 G$1 PR64 PCGS.</B></I> Only 87 proofs were struck out of the 7,707 total pieces produced this year. While prooflike business strikes exist, there is no confusion between such a coin and this proof. The fields are deeply mirrored and show the characteristic orange-peel texture commonly observed on proofs from this decade. Additionally, the devices are fully struck and display pronounced, but unacknowledged cameo contrast against the depth of reflectivity seen in the fields. Strong magnification shows a few tiny contact marks on the reverse, but this coin certainly appears better than PR64 to the unaided eye.
