1881 G$1 MS68 PCGS. CAC. Captivating semi-reflective surfaces appear to be nearly as struck, being delicately accented in natural golden-orange patina. The high production standards employed by the Philadelphia Mint during the striking of just 7,620 business strikes issued for the year, combined with the fact that a number of those were hoarded by dealers at the time of issue, has proven to be a bonanza for today's quality-conscious collector. This magnificent example is separated from perfection only by a nearly imperceptible, hair-thin luster graze on the cheek.
