<B>1881-CC S$1 MS68 PCGS.</B></I> The 1881-CC Morgan dollar is one of many issues that exhibit the Storage Paradox: Since the majority of examples were withheld from commerce and kept in government vaults for decades after their creation, Mint State representatives are more available than their circulated counterparts. Though there are many survivors--the GSA holdings, to quote Bowers in <I>A Guide Book of Morgan Silver Dollars,</B></I> amounted to nearly half the total mintage--only a handful can compare to this marvelous Morgan dollar.<BR> The fields of this stunning coin have equal parts cream and silver-gray, while the exquisitely detailed devices are ivory-gray with light frost. Only a handful of tiny marks and grazes are visible to the unaided eye, and they are scattered in unobtrusive places.
