<B>1881 50C PR64 Cameo PCGS.</B></I> Type Two Reverse. A fair number of proofs are available, from the original mintage of 975 pieces. Cameo proofs, however, are challenging to locate. The near-Gem presented in this lot displays outstanding contrast between the frosted devices and deeply mirrored fields. The strike is exquisite, though the eagle's right talon and the arrow feather are a trifle weak. Nearly untoned, save for a nearly imperceptible veneer of gold-tan color. A few wispy, inoffensive hairlines prevent an even higher grade.
