<B>1881 $5 MS64 NGC.</B></I> This is a repunched date variety, but it is clearly not the overdate variety, even though the NGC holder designates it as such and as FS-005. On the 1881/0 coin, the clear remnants of the lower loop of a 0 rise from either side of the 1. Although the new <I>Cherrypickers' Guide,</B></I> volume two (2006) depicts two repunched-date varieties for this year in addition to the overdate, this piece matches none of them.
