<B>1881 3CN MS67 PCGS.</B></I> A decision was made in 1881 to dramatically increase the production of three cent nickels, but despite a mintage of over one million pieces, relatively few Gems survive and Superb pieces are almost never seen. This delicately tinted example displays luxuriant luster and excellent highpoint definition. Antique-gold hues are lightly displayed on each side. Housed in an early PCGS holder with a green insert. This is one of the finest specimens thus far certified by either service.
