Original 1883 photogravure by Goupil & Co, Paris. From the original painting in the Museum of Neufchatel by G.Gleyre. Printed on heavy Japon paper in the 19th century. From "Masterpieces of French Art". The scenedepicts Hercules, serving as a slave to Omphale, Queen of Lydia, with a tiny cupid to symbolize his love for her. Approx 10" X 13" size. * Some foxing on the white area towards the bottom of the print & an olderwater stain, also appearing in the margin towards the top.
