1880's John L. Sullivan Cabinet Cards Lot of 2. Two definitive portraits of The Boston Strongboy, who ruled the bloody world of bare-knuckle boxing until it gave way to the Marques of Queensbury rules in the late 19th century. One finds the Heavyweight Champ in his classic boxing pose, while the second is a dignified bust shot in formal attire. Each sepia image is mounted to a board that extends the dimensions to 4x6.5". Typical edge and corner wear is present, but the images still project wonderfully. One has minor damage on back from scrapbook removal, with stamping from a local Boston retailer.
