<B>1880<T$1> PR65 PCGS.</B></I> Deep pinkish-gray obverse toning prevails, with glints of iridescent blue through the date and near the rim. The reverse adds glimpses of jade-green to the attractive color palette. The mintage of proof Trade dollars peaked in 1880 with this proof-only issue, with a recorded mintage of 1,987 pieces. Moderate brilliance radiates from beneath the deep toning, but perusal with a loupe reveals no evident signs of contact. PCGS has graded 31 coins finer (9/06).
