<B>1880-S S$1 MS68 NGC.</B></I> The emission of Morgan dollars in San Francisco in 1880 amounted to a healthy 8.9 million pieces, while the contrasting mintage for Carson City, all varieties, was under a half-million coins. Just a tiny ring of gold encircles this otherwise-brilliant Morgan dollar. The silvery surfaces are noticeably prooflike on each side, although unrecognized on the holder. Liberty's cheek is full and rounded, and there are essentially no distractions visible, large or small, on this delightful Superb Gem.
