<B>1880-S $1 Morgan Dollar--Off-Center, Counting Wheel Damage--ANACS. Unc Details, Net AU55.</B></I> The 1880-S, considered one of the most ubiquitous Morgan dollar issues, has long been considered an available and commonplace issue across all grades. This dramatic off-center piece, by contrast, is anything but ordinary. The coin was struck between 10% and 15% off-center in the direction of 2 o'clock, which cut off part of the legend E PLURIBUS UNUM on the obverse and the outermost tips of a few letters on the reverse. The struck regions have delicate gold, pink, and silver-gray patina, while the unstruck regions offer deeper cloud-gray haze. A counting wheel mark, visible as a concave region of shiny, disturbed luster to the left of Liberty's nose, triggered the net grade, but this flaw has little impact on the visual appeal.
