<B>1880-O<img border='0' src='http://www.heritagecoins.com/images/star.gif' width=10 height=10>$1> MS65 PCGS.</B></I> The 1880-O is one of the great condition rarities in the entire Morgan dollar series, being common up to and including the MS63 grade level, and then quickly dropping off to nearly unobtainable status in MS65. Only 38 Gems have been certified by the two major services, an astonishingly low number considering the original mintage of 5.3 million pieces.<BR> This coin's exceptional lack of surface marks immediately sets it apart from the typical Uncirculated '80-O, with the frosty fields being especially clean on the obverse. The striking details are exceptional for a New Orleans Mint silver dollar, and are essentially full, even over the centers. A bright sheen encompasses each side, and beautifully complements the silver-white surfaces. Population: 18 in 65, 0 finer (9/06).
