The strike is excellent, with only slight incompleteness of hair detail above Liberty's ear and on the eagle's breast feathers. The untoned white surfaces are fully lustrous and minimally marked. More than 6,000 1880-O dollars have been certified by PCGS, but only 20 of those have earned the MS65 grade. Not a single coin has been graded higher, at either NGC or PCGS. Only a few dates in the series are as rare as the 1880-O in MS65, and this is a good opportunity to acquire a high grade example that is not only technically impressive, but is also aesthetically pleasing.
