<B>1880 Hawaii Wailuku Plantation Real Token XF45 PCGS.</B></I> Medcalf 2TE-6. According to Donald Medcalf and Ronald Russell in their 1991 reference <I>Hawaiian Money,</B></I> The First Wailuku Sugar Co. employed 160 men and produced 1,600 tons of cane sugar in 1880. 1 Real and Half Real tokens were issued to laborers, these were struck from copper by a plantation blacksmith. Sharply struck for the issue, and essentially void of verdigris, unlike most pieces encountered.
