Brightly colored poster. Chicago Rock Island and Pacific Railway. Measures 27”x 15 ¼” mounted on white matte. Five vignettes of different railroad scenes present on the poster. Four show different train stations along the railway's routes. The vignette on the bottom shows the inside of one railway passenger car. Produced by A.T. Sears in Chicago. Slight wear on the right edge with a couple small holes and a tear on the bottom right corner. Slight wear on the top and bottom edges from tears. The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad was a Class I railroad in the U.S. The Rock Island stretched across Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Texas. The railway was once the subject of a lawsuit in 1857 and the lawyer who came to their defense was future President Abraham Lincoln.
