<B>1880-CC $1 8 Over High 7 MS66 PCGS.</B></I> According to Van Allen and Mallis all 1880-CC dollars started out as overdates: "Normal dies without overdates do not exist." It is just a matter of how much of the underdigit(s) are visible. This coin was apparently struck from an 187- die, as none of the final digit is visible. Predictably scarce in high grades, only 59 pieces have been so graded by PCGS with five finer (6/07). The fields are bright and semi-prooflike with thick mint frost over the devices.
