<B>1880/79-O S$1 MS65 PCGS.</B></I> VAM-4. Micro O. A Top 100 Variety. PCGS recognizes two 1880/79-O VAMs, VAM-4 and VAM-5. The present lot is tied for the finest certified 1880/79-O dollar, and it poses an immense opportunity to the competitive variety Registry Set collector. It is also desirable, of course, to the high grade specialist of the various 1880-dated Morgan overdate or checkmark VAMs from the various mints. The 1880-O is available in MS64, but Gems are rare. This lustrous piece has attractive golden-brown and aqua-blue peripheral toning. The devices are crisply struck for a New Orleans delivery, and the only detraction is a minute brown spot northeast of the arrowheads.
