<B>1880 50C PR66 NGC.</B></I> Type Two Reverse. The 1880 is one of the popular issues that is positioned at the beginning of this low-mintage decade (the low mintages actually began in 1879). Only 1,355 proofs were struck out of a total mintage of 11,555 pieces, the remainder of which are 8,400 circulation strikes. This is an attractive coin that displays light gray and rose patina over each side. The colors are enhanced by bright, flashy mirrors in the fields. As one would expect, there are no obvious contact marks on either side.
