<B>1880 $20 MS62 PCGS.</B></I> After generous mintages numbering in the hundreds of thousands for the mid- to late 1870s, the P-mint double eagle production in 1880 plummeted to only 51,420 pieces, and examples in high grade are accordingly elusive. This lustrous peach-gold piece appears quite high-end for the grade, with excellent eye appeal, despite the presence of a few light, undistracting abrasions, mostly well away from the prime focal points.
