1880 $2 1/2 MS62 PCGS. Nicely preserved surfaces that display gold and reddish-amber coloration, and intense satiny luster. The design elements are boldly struck, and the number of small blemishes seems consistent with the assigned grade. One of just 2,960 business strikes produced and a scarce issue, especially in Mint condition. Karl Stecher, Sr. purchased this piece for $8.00 from the Guttag Bros. of New York during the 1930s. A Guttag Bros. envelope accompanies, and is marked "1880 2 1/2 Dollar Gold Unc 8.00 was proof." Population: 6 in 62, 17 finer (2/07).
From The Stecher Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
