1880 $1 PR64 PCGS. According to David Bowers (2005), the 1,355-piece proof mintage of 1880 Morgan dollars was: " ... a figure caused by the carry-along factor from those who were speculating in Proof Trade dollars this year. Today, many Proofs of this date are cleaned." The lovely near-Gem specimen offered here exhibits considerable field-device contrast, especially when the coin is tilted under a light source. Faint blue and gold-tan color rests over both faces, and an impressive strike brings out great definition in the elements. No significant marks are apparent. Liberty's cheek, neck, forehead, and temple are amazingly clean! A very pleasing coin overall.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
