<B>1880 $1 MS66 PCGS.</B></I> A dusting of sandy patination accents both sides of this Premium Gem. Considering its mintage of 12.6 million pieces and its early position within the Morgan dollar series, it is not surprising that the 1880 is expectantly plentiful in MS62 to MS65 grades. At the MS66 level, however, it emerges as a surprising condition rarity, and both PCGS and NGC have yet to certify an example in MS67 or finer grades.
