1879-S S$1 MS63 PCGS, well struck with clean surfaces, most of the obverse is overlaid by deep multicolored iridescence, which partially conceals a noticeable abrasion near Miss Liberty's temple, the reverse is primarily brilliant and lightly marked, with a band of dark-orange iridescence across the upper rim; 1879-S MS63 PCGS, well struck and lustrous, the obverse is fully brilliant with a few toning specks in evidence, Miss Liberty's cheek is somewhat heavily abraded, much eye appeal is derived from the reverse, which displays spectacular rainbow toning, primarily in shades of golden-orange, yellow, crimson, and lavender; and an 1879-S MS64 PCGS, well made and carefully preserved, this example is almost fully brilliant on the obverse, some olive-orange tone resides near the upper left rim, Miss Liberty's cheek has one rather heavy mark, the reverse is entirely covered by varying hues of bright iridescence, primarily crimson, turquoise-green, and yellow, and is lightly marked.
