<B>1879-S $5 MS62 PCGS.</B></I> The 1879-S five dollar is relatively common in circulated grades, but Mint State examples are elusive; Gem coins are virtually unavailable. Apricot-gold surfaces exhibit brighter luster on the reverse of this MS62 specimen, and portray sharp definition on all of the design elements. Light handling marks are more apparent on the obverse.
