<B>1879-S $20 MS61 NGC.</B></I> Well struck with complete definition observed on most of the design elements, and rather prominent machine doubling noted on the upper reverse lettering (UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and IN GOD WE TRUST). The fields are noticeably prooflike, especially on the obverse. Both sides are peppered with numerous small abrasions, limiting the grade. Garrett and Guth (2006) comment that this issue is "actually scarce in Mint State," despite the relatively easy availability of lower-grade specimens. <BR><BR><B>Coin Engraver:</B> James B.
