<B>1879-S $1 Reverse of 1878 MS65 NGC.</B></I> Top 100. A large number of Reverse of 1878 dollars were found in the Redfield hoard. While this greatly increased the availability of this variant, it also increased awareness of it and consequently also increased demand by even more collectors. Today, the Flat Breast 1879-S is an established variety in the Morgan series, and it is well known that high grade examples are very scarce. This Gem is fully struck and the surfaces are mostly brilliant with just the faintest hint of golden present on the denticles on the right side of the obverse.
