1879<G$1> MS66 PCGS. This is an impressive example with few peers. The mintage was a limited 3,000 coins, produced at a time when all of the Mints were concentrating on Morgan dollar production. Unlike many others, this example has brilliant and frosty light yellow luster. The surfaces are not prooflike as usual. Light clash marks provide additional proof that this is a business strike example. The letters BER in LIBERTY are indistinct, lapped from the obverse die and diagnostic of the issue. Population: 29 in 66, 3 finer (9/06).
