<B>1879-CC S$1 MS65 PCGS.</B></I> Ex: Jackson Hole. This is the Normal Mintmark variety, and it is highly elusive in Gem grade. The surfaces are fully brilliant white, with satiny luster in the fields and frosty luster in the devices. It nearly qualifies as a prooflike example, and presents exceptional aesthetic appeal. This date is a key issue in the Morgan dollar series, and it is the second rarest date in the subset of Carson City Mint silver dollars. Although the so-called Capped Die piece is actually scarcer, the Normal Mintmark coins are considered by most to be more desirable.
