<B>1879-CC S$1 MS64 PCGS.</B></I> The popularity of the 1879-CC is one of the constants in U.S. numismatics. The low business strike production of 756,000 pieces partly explains this popularity. It is also a low availability issue in all grades. Upper Mint State coins are always in demand by collectors and there are never enough available to satisfy advanced Morgan specialists. This is an especially attractive example of this popular, semi-key dollar. The surfaces are brilliant and show rich, frosted mint luster over the devices with semi-reflective fields. Fully struck. This issue is often found heavily abraded, but that is certainly not the case with this particular coin.
