In fact, this mint produced the most attractive coins of the four mints in operation at that time. The reason was precise alignment of the dies. This did, indeed, cause the dies to wear faster than if they were positioned farther apart, but producing a high quality product can hardly be considered inefficient. As expected, this is a sharply struck coin. The mint luster is also bright and frosted with brilliant centers and varying amounts of peripheral color. Numerous small to medium-sized abrasions explain the grade.
